Tree Species: Chinese Juniper ‘Blaauw’ (Juniperus chinensis ‘Blaauw’)

Owner: Gail Mack

Potter if Known:

History:

This little Chinese juniper originally belonged to Gail’s mother. She grew it from a cutting, Gail suspects, although she does’t know for sure. It grew in a terracotta pot all the time she had it. Gail inherited the tree in 2018 at which time it was probably around 20 years old. In Gail’s own words ‘I can take credit only for keeping it alive in the intervening years! The vision, artistry and development are Ian Young’s, and I am indebted to him for his creativity and expertise in taming it to what is displayed today. My mother would be beyond pleased and impressed, and that is what this is all about for me. Mum’s precious legacy.’
